Apple Set to Unveil AI Wall Tablet in March, Reports Bloomberg News
Apple is preparing to unveil a wall-mounted AI display, codenamed J490, with advanced functionalities. The new product is expected to showcase Apple Intelligence, an innovative AI platform. Priced at up to US$1,000 for the higher-end model, the device will compete in the smart home market.
According to Bloomberg News, sources familiar with the project confirmed that the upcoming product, known internally as J490, will be announced as early as March. This innovative device is expected to provide a variety of functions, such as controlling appliances, facilitating video conferencing, and using artificial intelligence to streamline app navigation.
According to the report, the new AI platform, known as Apple Intelligence, will take centre stage with the launch of this highly anticipated product. While Apple has yet to respond to requests for comment, industry insiders estimate that the premium device could cost up to US$1,000, depending on the components used. However, a more basic display-only version is in the works, which will most likely be more affordable.
Apple's entry into the smart home market with the AI wall tablet is viewed as a strategic move to compete against established players such as Google's Nest Hub and Amazon's Echo Show and Echo Hub smart displays. The device, which resembles a square iPad and is roughly the size of two iPhones placed side by side, has a 6-inch screen and will be available in sleek silver and black colours, according to Bloomberg News.
Despite being a stand-alone device, the AI wall tablet is expected to work seamlessly with iPhones for some functions, improving user experience and connectivity.
