ASUS ROG Introduces S$9,999 Flagship in Refresh Of Gaming Laptop Lineup

Updated: Aug 19, 2021

Would you pay almost S$10,000 for a gaming laptop?

ASUS Republic Of Gamers (ROG) thinks you might, with their new ROG Mothership GZ700 gaming laptop spearheading the ASUS ROG Spring Collection refresh of the gaming laptop line.

Packing the newest Intel 9th Generation mobile processor, the octa-core i9-9980HK that can Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080, the GZ700 is a beast of a laptop. Coupled with 64GB of DDR4 RAM, three 512GB M.2 NVMe SSDs in RAID 0 array and a 4K UHD 100% Adobe RGB IPS display running at a 60hz refresh rate, this laptop truly lives up to ROG’s aim of being a full-fledged desktop replacement device.

If the hefty price tag is too much to swallow, no worries, there’s always the ROG Zephyrus S GX502 (starting from S$3,398) for the content creators looking to get a device that can straddle the line between being a competent gaming machine and a laptop that can handle the demands of work.

Showcasing a 15.6″ FHD screen that’s PANTONE validated for accurate colour reproduction, the laptop runs on a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, 16GB of DDR4 RAM and the Intel i7-9750H processor Turbo Boost-able up to 4.5GHz. All those while managing to stay just under 2kg, so it’s still relatively portable for work.

For those on a budget but still looking for decent performance, there are four models from the ROG Strix line (starting from S$1,598). The two Strix Scar III models come with the newest NVIDIA RTX 2060 and 2070 GPUs, 16GB DDR4 RAM and the i7-9750H processor.

The ROG Strix G models come with the previous generation’s 1050, 1065 or 1660Ti GPUs, i7-9750H processor and 8 or 16GB of DDR4 RAM.
