Balancing Business and Social Impact: Tuya's Thai IoT Gathering

The Tuya Innovation Roundtable event in Bangkok, Thailand, brought a range of cutting-edge technological innovations, and one of the most impressive products showcased was Naiyana, a wearable camera designed to assist the visually impaired.

Naiyana: A Wearable Companion

Naiyana, a portable travel companion, is a testament to Tuya Smart's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. It offers real-time voice guidance to help users navigate around head-level obstacles. With voice commands like "careful left" and "careful right," Naiyana guides users in the corresponding direction when obstructions block their path. The camera also provides reassuring feedback with a "safe" message once the obstacle is overcome. This innovation aims to empower those with visual impairments by enhancing their confidence and independence. It opens up a world of possibilities for those with visual impairments, granting them the independence and freedom to explore their surroundings with confidence. It's more than technology; it's a profound enhancement of the quality of life.

Assistive Technology Beyond Naiyana

The scanning pen that reads text aloud enables users to identify and understand the text on objects, such as medication packaging. It provides them with information, allowing them to live their lives with a newfound sense of self-reliance and knowledge.

These products collectively demonstrate Tuya's commitment to improving the quality of life for a wide range of users.

However, ensuring widespread inclusivity remains an ongoing process requiring coordinated coordination between public and private actors.
