Flagship smartphone nominees
We reviewed the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro during the Circuit Breaker period here in Singapore and we were pleasantly surprised by how good the phone was for the price point. There’s a 108MP camera, 8K video recording, a beautiful display and the phone is fast and there was really no compromise by Xiaomi while still coming in at a lower price point than other phones by Samsung and the likes.
Moving on, it’s pretty tough to choose between these two phones, because we love both phones for various reasons. We had to put the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 here though, because it’s still relatively new tech and the phone is still quite delicate. We love the design of the phone, it’s beautiful and Samsung has knocked it out of the park. The only downside is that it’s heavy, and if you want to take it to places like the gym, you do have to be careful. Aside from that, it’s fast, the cameras are really good and the overall performance is there.
Our favourite though, has to be the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The A14 Bionic chip has to be one of the fastest chipsets out there, and the quality of all the cameras on the phone are great. Video quality is great with Dolby Vision HDR, the design of the phone is fantastic and the performance is excellent.
Just some shout outs for budget phones though, we love the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, it’s excellent for its price point and Xiaomi is really packing a lot of great stuff in their phones these days.
There’s also the iPhone 12 Mini, which is a great, compact phone that works excellently for people who don’t use their phones all that much for media consumption or if you just need a second phone to bring around.
