CES 2024: Acer Debuts New Swift, Aspire, Predator Laptops
Laptops aplenty as Acer returns to this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The Taiwanese hardware maker debuted new and refreshed Swift, Aspire and Predator laptop models, as well as new gaming monitors, at the annual tech conference.

Swift

First up are Acer's new Swift thin and light Swift laptops. This year's lineup are touted to be more performance minded, sporting Intel Core Ultra processors that include Intel’s first neural processing unit (NPU) and integrated artificial intelligence acceleration capabilities.
The new Acer Swift Go 16 (SFG16-72) and Swift Go 14 (SFG14-73) are powered by new Intel Core Ultra processors and Intel Arc built-in GPUs. These specs, according to Acer, allow the two laptops to pair premium performance with an all-day battery life. The 14-inch model can last up to 12.5 hours on a full charge, while the 16-inch model lasts up to 10.5 hours.
For displays, the two laptops feature vibrant, color-rich OLED panels with 500-nit peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 colour range, and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. The Swift Go 16’s 3.2K panel has a 3200 x 2000
resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, while the Swift Go 14's 14-inch 2.8K panel has a 2880 x 1800 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.
Other features include a dedicated Copilot button, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, a QHD webcam and support for 32GB LPDDR5X memory and up to an upgradable 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD with dual slots. The two laptops also include dual USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, a USB Type-A port with offline charging, HDMI 2.1 and a microSD card
reader, as well as Bluetooth LE Audio for improved wireless audio.

Alongside the two, Acer also debuted the Swift X 14, which houses Intel Core Ultra H-series processors, Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptop GPUs and a 2.8K OLED panel. The new CPUs and GPUs enable faster AI-enhanced workflows for higher quality live streaming, video editing and 3D rendering, while the new panel's improved colour accuracy helps creators and professionals bring their designs to life.
When it comes to ports, the laptop features dual USB Type-C ports, an HDMI 2.1 port and a MicroSD card reader, as well as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth LE Audio. It also supports up to 32 GB LPDDR5X memory and up to 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.
Pricing and availability in Singapore for all three Swift laptops have yet to be announced.
Aspire

Acer expanded its Aspire line, with the additions of Aspire Go laptops, which are available in 15.6 and 14-inch models. Both ship with a narrow screen bezels and up to 16:10 aspect ratios, delivering large viewing spaces and high-resolution visuals. Both models are powered by up to Intel Core i3 N-Series processors, while the Aspire Go 14 (AG14-21P) can also be equipped with the AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors to provide responsive performance. The two boast up to 10 hours of battery life. They each also come with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1 TB M.2 PCIe Gen3 SSD storage.

Apart from the two Aspire Go models, Acer additionally introduced the Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition. This laptop delivers stereoscopic 3D content for entertainment and creation on a 15.6-inch UHD display without the need for glasses or any other special equipment. It does this by combining SpatialLabs’ advanced optical solutions with the processing power of up to an Intel Core i7 processor 13620H and the graphics power of up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU. The laptop also comes equipped with up to 32 GB of DDR5 memory and up to 2 TB
of storage, as well as multiple connectivity options with an HDMI 2.1 port, a USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 port, and Wi-Fi 6 support.

Predator

For gaming, Acer has new Predator Helios laptops, headlined by the refreshed models of the Predator Helios 16. This powerhouse, performance-focused machine can pack up to up to an Intel Core i9 processor 14900HX and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. That means it'll have all the bells and whistles, including AI-powered enhancements like DLSS 3.5 technology’s full ray tracing capabilities, in running the most demanding games.
The laptop is available in 16-inch (16:10) WQXGA or Mini LED panels that operate at 250 Hz, support 1000 nits luminosity and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. For connectivity, it has two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports and MicroSD card readers, as well as Wi-Fi 7 capabilities.

Meanwhile, the new Predator Helios Neo 18 laptops house Intel Core i9 processors 14900HX paired with up to NVIDIA
GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPUs. They'll of course also feature DLSS 3.5 technology and full ray tracing. It additionally has 32 GB DDR5 5600 MHz memory and up to 2 TB PCIe Gen 4 solid state drives in RAID 0 under the hood. For display, it sports a WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS panel with 240Hz refresh rates, 3 ms response time and coverage for 100% DCI-P3 colour range.

Monitors

Speaking of gaming, Acer is also releasing new gaming monitors under the Predator brand. These include two with MiniLED and two with OLED panels, all designed to elevate the visual experience. The MiniLED options deliver sharp visuals and consist of the the 57-inch Predator Z57 with a DUHD (7680x2160) max resolution at 120 Hz and the 34-inch Predator X34 V3 supporting UWQHD (3440x1440) resolution at 180 Hz refresh rate. The OLED options, meanwhile, consist of the 39-inch Predator X39 and the 34-inch Predator X34 X, both of which feature ultra-fast latency and performance with UWQHD (3440x1440) resolution at 240 Hz and 0.01 ms pixel response time.

Acer returns to CES, debuting a wide range of laptops from its Swift, Aspire and Predator lines.
Notable reveals include the new Acer Swift Go 16, Swift Go 14, Predator Helios 16 and Predator Helios Neo 18, as well as the Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition, which feature stereoscopic 3D visuals.
Acer also unveiled new monitors under the Predator brand: two with MiniLED and two with OLED panels.
