Great Wall, based in Hebei and China's first publicly listed car manufacturer, has confirmed to Reuters that it has integrated DeepSeek into its connected vehicle system, branding it as "Coffee Intelligence." The State-run publication Securities Times was the first to report this development by Great Wall.
Meanwhile, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced that the country's three major telecom giants - China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom - are actively exploring the integration of the latest AI technology through the DeepSeek open-source model to promote its inclusive application.
DeepSeek's AI platform, which has the potential to disrupt the economics of the industry, has sparked investor interest in its positive impact on China's tech sector. This has led to a surge in Chinese investors flocking to AI-related stocks, including chipmakers, software developers, and data center operators.
Two listed companies, Capitalonline Data Service and MeiG Smart Technology, have seen significant stock price increases after announcing their involvement with DeepSeek. Capitalonline Data Service reported a 49% jump in shares, attributing it to the deployment of the DeepSeek-R1 model. MeiG Smart Technology, on the other hand, experienced a 33% increase in shares as it disclosed its work on adapting DeepSeek-related models, although it is still in the early stages of development.
Notably, other prominent Chinese companies like Tencent and Huawei have also revealed their integration of DeepSeek's model into their offerings, further highlighting the widespread adoption of this AI technology in China's corporate landscape.
