What do Panasonic and Michael Phelps have in common? A goal to inspire youth around the world today. And that’s why Olympic gold medallists Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky, along with other Paralympic medallists and Olympic hopefuls have joined Team Panasonic, a partnership where Panasonic will support Phelps’ Michael Phelps Foundation and Ledecky’s new STEM education program.

Phelps and Ledecky will be speaking in a series of discussions called Panasonic Talks at the Panasonic Booth. The full schedule is available here.

But that’s not all that was announced at the Panasonic keynote. Panasonic has partnered with Disney Parks to provide projection solutions for rides and attractions in the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge themed land, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise Of The Resistance.

With 4K illuminated projectors that aren’t even out on the market yet, theme-park goers are definitely in for a treat when they visit the Disneyland Resort in California or the Walt Disney World Resort near Florida.

Panasonic has also announced some Smart Mobility technologies and products, and one of the more interesting products is the WHILL Next Autonomous Wheelchair. With sensors that recognise objects and obstacles, the electric wheelchair by WHILL has passenger assisted robotic technology for safe and comfortable movement thanks to the implementation of autonomous driving software from Panasonic.

Want to keep an eye on your home but don’t want to put up obvious security cameras around your house? The Panasonic HomeHawk FLOOR is a slim floor lamp with a camera system that’s integrated into the product. The product is also a CES 2020 Innovation Awards honoree.

While the Panasonic LUMIX S1H has been available in Singapore since late 2019, this is the camera’s CES debut as part of the suite of LUMIX cameras that are the official digital cameras of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Being the world’s first camera capable of video recording at 6K 24p, 5.9K 20p and 4K 60p, we’re definitely excited for this.
