Google Pixel 10 to Switch to MediaTek Modems in 2025
Google Pixel 10 series to switch from Qualcomm and Samsung modems to MediaTek's T900 modem chip in 2025. MediaTek's T900 modem chip expected to outperform the previous T800 model. Pixel 10 series to include Tensor G5 processor manufactured using TSMC's N3E (3nm).
The report states that Google will be moving away from using Qualcomm and Samsung modem chips and will instead opt for MediaTek's T900 modem chip in 2025.
The decision to switch to MediaTek's T900 modem chip is based on its anticipated superior performance compared to its predecessor, the T800. The T800 modem chip, which was launched in November 2022, boasts impressive peak download speeds of up to 7.9 Gbps and peak upload speeds of up to 4.2 Gbps.
In addition to the modem chip transition, the Pixel 10 series is expected to feature the Tensor G5 processor. This processor will be produced using TSMC's cutting-edge N3E (3nm) process, the same process utilised for Apple's iPhone 16 series A18 and A18 Pro chips.
