Huawei introduces Maextro S800 luxury saloon to challenge top players in the market. The luxury sedan is set to compete with Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Rolls-Royce Phantom family. This move marks Huawei's entry into the top tier of the automotive industry through its Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), which now includes JAC as its fourth member.

The Maextro S800, a grand luxury saloon boasting a wheelbase of 3,370 millimetres, showcases a contemporary two-tone colour scheme, vertical daytime running lights, and sleek silver polished finish design wheels, all aimed at enhancing its prestige. Positioned to rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the Rolls-Royce Phantom family, the Maextro S800 is priced between RMB 1 million and RMB 1.5 million (US$137,800-US$206,700) ahead of its anticipated launch in early 2025.

Huawei's foray into the automotive sector doesn't stop there. The company has already made significant strides in the electric vehicle market, having delivered over 500,000 electric vehicles in partnership with three manufacturing allies under the HIMA banner - Seres, Chery, and BAIC. The Aito M5, the inaugural collaborative model between Huawei and a Chinese automaker, hit the roads in March 2022, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Huawei's automotive ventures.
