LG has made a splash with its latest pre-CES 2025 announcement, introducing three cutting-edge OLED gaming monitors, including the world’s first 5K2K bendable model. The star of the show is the UltraGear 45GX990A, a 45-inch monitor that boasts a unique bendable feature, allowing users to adjust the curvature of the screen between 900R and flat to accommodate different seating positions or usage scenarios. This innovative monitor has already clinched three CES 2025 Innovation awards, including the prestigious ‘Best of Innovation’ accolade.

The 45GX990A is described as an all-in-one smart gaming monitor powered by LG webOS, indicating its versatility beyond gaming, with the ability to stream video content. Its 5,120 x 2160 resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio, shared with its non-bendable sibling, the 45GX950A, offer a visually immersive experience for gamers. Both monitors are designed to reduce eye strain during extended gaming sessions, featuring low blue light emissions and LG’s Anti-Glare and Low Reflection coating for optimal visibility in various lighting conditions.

LG’s second-generation Dual-Mode technology equips the 45GX990A and 45GX950A with customisable aspect ratios and multiple image sizes, catering to different gaming genres and room setups. With a native 165Hz refresh rate at maximum resolution, these monitors can also reach a refresh rate of 330Hz at lower resolutions, providing flexibility for varying gaming preferences. A rapid 0.03ms GtG response time and True Black 400 rating by VESA’s DisplayHDR certification ensure exceptional visual performance.
