Motorola Solutions has launched a new AI-enabled device, the SVX, aimed at helping first responders reduce emergency response times and streamline operations.

The SVX combines a remote speaker microphone, body camera, and an AI assistant named Assist. It is designed to work with Motorola’s APX NEXT radios, offering real-time data analysis and communication tools for law enforcement.
The company said Assist can process vehicle registration plate numbers and drivers’ licences, providing officers with immediate access to critical data.
Motorola Solutions said patrol officers currently spend over 40% of their report-writing time on basic data entry, a task the AI assistant is expected to significantly reduce.
The SVX and Assist will integrate with Motorola’s existing systems, enhancing their capabilities. The company said the device was developed in collaboration with 32 public safety agencies and tested by 150 users.
Motorola Solutions holds a dominant position in the public safety market, with more than 60% of 911 calls in the United States routed through its software systems.
Chief Technology Officer Mahesh Saptharishi said the company is also adapting its supply chain in response to global trade shifts and tariffs.
He noted that Motorola Solutions has manufacturing operations in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Malaysia, and optimises its supply chain based on operational needs.
