Apple WWDC 2021 Will Be An Online Event From 7-11 June

Apple announced that it will host this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) online.

The event, which will offer unique insights into the future of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, is scheduled to commence on 7 June 2021 and will end on 11 June 2021. It will also be free for all developers who wish to attend.


Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations and Enterprise and Education Marketing, mentioned that Apple is working to make WWDC 2021 “our biggest and best yet.” She also stated that the company is excited to offer Apple developers new tools to support them as they create apps that change the way people love, work and play.


WWDC 2021 will provide Apple’s community of 28 million developers with the information and tools needed to turn their ideas into reality. The event will also serve as an opportunity for developers to learn about the latest frameworks and technologies from bona fide Apple engineers. The event will also include announcements from the keynote and State of the Union stages, online sessions and 1:1 labs, offering technical guidance to attending developers.

Apple also announced that 2021’s Swift Student Challenge is now accepting submissions from 31 March 2021 to 18 April 2021. The Swift Student Challenge is an opportunity for young developers to demonstrate their coding skills by creating a Swift playground that can be experienced within three minutes. Swift Playgrounds is an iPad and Mac app that makes learning the Swift programming language interactive and fun.


Winners of the 2021 Swift Student Challenge will receive exclusive WWDC 2021 outerwear and a pin set. Interested developers can visit the Swift Student Challenge website for more information.


Apple mentioned that they will share additional programme information through the Apple Developer app, on the Apple Developer website and through email in advance of the event.
