Update (25 November 2019) : ASUS ZenWiFi (AC) CT8 will be launching at S$499.

If you’re in the market for a new mesh WiFi system, you’ll want to hold out for a bit longer to see what Asus has to offer. With their new ZenWiFi systems available soon, these are definitely contenders.

The WiFi 6 model ZenWiFi AX will be launching later in 2019, but the WiFi 5 model ZenWiFi AC will be launching later this month at SITEX 2019. Both models allow users to customise different SSID names for each of the three WiFi bands, one 2.4GHz and two 5GHz.

If manually switching between bands is too much of a hassle, Asus also has a Smart Connection feature that will allocate different devices to specific bands based on the wireless signal strength and existing traffic.

And don’t worry about speeds, Asus even gives users the option to configure a 5GHz band as a dedicated backhaul connection instead of splitting the bandwidth like traditional dual-band WiFi mesh systems.

The ZenWiFi AX is claimed to be able to support network coverage up to 5500 square feet, which is around 6 rooms, while the ZenWiFi AC will be able to cover up to 5400 square feet, approximately 4 rooms.

More information and pricing will be announced closer to the launch.
