Huawei’s troubles with the Trump administration ban on them doing business with US businesses seem to be alleviated, at least a little. Losing Google and their range of services is a big loss, but Huawei has plugged one leak by signing a deal with digital mapping company TomTom.

TomTom is a Dutch company, and therefore, not subject to the Trump ban and free to do business with Huawei. This deal will allow Huawei to use TomTom’s maps and data to develop apps and provide navigation solutions for their mobile customers.

Reportedly, the deal had been confirmed a while back but was not made public by either company until now. We’ve reached out to Huawei for comment but not heard back at the time of publication.
