Samsung Expected to Reveal Galaxy S21 Series at Unpacked 2021

Samsung is set to unveil its flagship phones, the Galaxy S21 Series, earlier than expected.

The company has released an invitation to its Unpacked 2021 event on its Mobile Press website, where it is expected to showcase the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra according to leaked reports as reported by Gadgets360.

The event is set on January 14 at 10am EST, or 11pm here in Singapore. This will be the first time Samsung is showcasing its flagship phones in January as opposed to the usual February release.

Samsung stated on its invitation: “Over the past year, mobile technology has taken centre stage in everyday life as people are working remotely and spending more time at home. The accelerated transition to a mobile-first world brings with it the need for devices that can transform everyday life into an extraordinary experience.”

The invitation also added a video of the Galaxy S21 camera contained in a cube of blurry glass with the caption, “Welcome to the Everyday Epic.” Additionally, it contains links to an AR countdown for Unpacked 2021 on Facebook and Instagram.

Leaker Max Weinbach has speculated that the Galaxy S21 series could be cheaper than its predecessors, while also showing off some clips of how the rear cameras could look. However, recent leaks from Ishan Argawal placed the basic Galaxy S21 to be at around €849.

There are unconfirmed reports that made the rounds on the web in December 2020 that the Galaxy S21 series will not include a charger or even earphones with the unit, forcing consumers to buy a separate charger and headphones from Samsung or other third-party providers. In line with that, leaker Roland Quandt has now come out to claim that there won’t be a charger, earphones or even a phone cover included with the unit.

The Unpacked 2021 will be hosted online on Samsung’s website at 10am CST or 11pm SGT on 14 January 2021.
