Qualcomm has announced its newest flagship Snapdragon mobile processor that will most likely make its appearance in flagship phones next year, the Snapdragon 888 5G chip.

Claimed to have incredible Wi-Fi 6 speeds of up to 3.6Gbps, 5G capabilities, even faster graphics rendering for mobile gaming and more features like the ability to support up to 200MP photo capture, we’re definitely excited to see what next year’s phones will be capable of.

Chinese brand Oppo and sub-brand realme are definitely not lagging behind, with announcements trailing Qualcomm’s closely. Oppo has announced that the next Find X series set to launch in Q1 2021 will be one of the first few phones in the world to launch with the Snapdragon 888 5G chip. We reviewed the Find X2 Pro earlier in 2020 and it was an impressive flagship device, so we have high expectations for whatever Oppo comes up with for next year.

Oppo’s sub-brand realme has also made an announcement that their upcoming flagship “Race” will also use the Snapdragon 888 5G chip. It’s surprising since realme started out as an affordable option for consumers, so we’ll be waiting to see what sort of specs “Race” will offer.

We’ve seen egg substitutes before, but they’re typically in the form of products like scrambled egg substitutes. Singapore-based food tech start-up, Float Foods, has announced that they will be debuting a whole egg substitute made out of legumes, which has both an egg yolk and egg white replacement, called OnlyEg.

Float Foods claims that OnlyEg will be able to”offer versatility, functionality and nutritional value that matches that of a whole chicken egg, while mitigating the potential for animal-to-human disease transmission, hormones or antibiotics residue and supply chain disruption; reducing our carbon footprint and land use while adding to food diversity”.

The raw OnlyEg certainly looks similar to a raw chicken egg, but when cooked, slight differences in terms of colour can be seen. That being said though, the taste and texture of OnlyEg will definitely be the main factor in determining whether consumers will be willing to switch over.

Float Foods isn’t stopping at just the OnlyEg though. The company has plans to introduce dairy-free alternative proteins for yoghurt, cheese and milk, and a line of plant-based egg patty and shredded eggs over the next two years.

But it’s not just all work and no play. Microsoft’s Xbox Adaptive Controller was specially designed to make games more accessible for people who might have disabilities that prevent them from playing on regular controllers.

With enlargened buttons and ports to connect switches, buttons and more that can control every button, thumbstick and trigger input, the Adaptive Controller is also a unified hub for all these devices.

It’s definitely heartening to see companies keep accessibility and inclusivity in mind when designing new products for the masses!
