Xiaomi Redmi 10 Will Have a 50MP Main Camera, MediaTek Helio G88 SoC

Recently, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 10 in Singapore, unveiling a bunch of upgrades to the device. Redmi 10 features the series’ first 50MP high-resolution camera, along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor to complete a quad-camera system.

Becoming the first smartphone to launch globally with the new MediaTek Helio G88 processor, the Redmi 10 will perform even better than its predecessor. The SoC allows the gadget to run on a higher GPU frequency and a higher refresh rate.

The smartphone also has an impressive screen, housing a 6.5-inch display with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate that allows for smooth scrolling and swiping. With its AdaptiveSync technology, the Redmi 10 will automatically adjust the screen’s refresh rate based on what content is on the screen, preserving your phone’s battery life as it will increase refresh rates only when needed. Aside from that, the device will include a feature called Reading Mode 3.0, which means reading the news or your favourite book will be more enjoyable as it lessens eye strain.

On the other hand, the Redmi 10’s 5,000mAh battery can keep your device running for over two days on a single charge with moderate usage. The phone also comes with 18W fast charging, 9W reverse wired charging and an in-box 22.5W charger with a USB-C port.

The Redmi 10 will be running on the MIUI 12.5 OS, which is focused on system optimisation and is expected to result in 22% less CPU usage and 15% less power consumption. Gesture rendering is prioritised on the device, resulting in an overall smoother experience.

The Redmi 10 will be available in three colours: Carbon Grey, Pebble White and Sea Blue, although only Carbon Grey and Pebble White will come to the Singapore market. You can choose from two storage options: 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB, which costs S$229 and S$249 respectively.

Starting 20 August 2021, you can buy the Redmi 10 through the company's official sales channels. The 4GB+64GB version of the phone will be sold online on Lazada and Shopee for a lower price of S$219 while supplies last.
