OPPO’s New Reno6 Pro 5G Has Bokeh Flare Portrait Video, Improved Video Auto-Focusing

OPPO Singapore unveiled the latest OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G, which is dubbed as the "AI Portrait Video Expert" for its AI video tools, including the Bokeh Flare Portrait Video feature. This processes videos in real-time, highlighting the bokeh light spots in the background while keeping the subject bright and natural-looking. You can use the bokeh lighting effect on portrait videos shot with either the front or the rear cameras.

With the phone’s new Focus Tracking function, you can also record videos without worrying if you’re out of focus as it identifies and automatically tracks the clip’s subjects steadily and consistently.

On the other hand, AI Highlight Video on the Reno6 Pro 5G automatically detects ambient light and adds video optimisations to improve the clip’s lighting. In the daytime, the technology allows you to shoot clearer and brighter portrait videos packed with even more colour. At night, it’ll help you capture audiovisual recordings with an improved video clarity of up to 40.2% compared to the Reno5 Pro 5G.

The Reno6 Pro 5G can similarly produce clear shots of moving subjects with Flash Snapshot. If you’re looking for a post-processing tool, then the AI Palette might come in handy as it lets you copy the tone and effects from other images and apply them to pictures.

Equipped with a 64MP quad-camera system on its back and a 32MP selfie camera, the smartphone can let you take high-quality photos and videos. Meanwhile, the device’s 6.5-inch 3D curved display with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 180Hz touch sampling rate can make for a smooth and highly responsive experience. With an HDR10+ certified screen, the phone can provide even more vivid and higher-quality visuals.

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200, the Reno6 Pro 5G’s octa-core chip increases CPU performance by 22%. It is also 25% more power-efficient versus older models. Compared to the previous generation, the gadget’s GPU performance improved by 13% and its AI performance by 12.5%.

The phone has 12GB of RAM and 256GB ROM as well as OPPO’s RAM Expansion technology. When used, it will convert some of the available ROM storage into RAM space. Thanks to that, an extra 3GB/5GB/7GB of memory can be added to the 12GB of RAM when needed, which could help the phone smoothly run various apps all at once.

The Reno6 Pro 5G comes with a 4500mAh battery and 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging that can give your phone a 100% charge in approximately 31 minutes, but results may vary depending on your device usage and environment. The phone will be available at a promotional price of S$899 from 21 August to 19 September, in two colours: Aurora and Stellar Black. Purchases made during this timeframe will be entitled to receive a free OPPO Band and a pair of OPPO Enco W51 earbuds, while supplies last.

After the promotional period ends on 19 September, the phone will retail at the usual price of S$949. From 20 to 30 September, each purchase will still be entitled to the free OPPO Band and OPPO W51 earbuds mentioned above, while stocks last.

You can preorder the Reno6 Pro 5G from 21 to 27 August 2021 at OPPO’s flagship store on Shopee and OPPO Concept stores.

The smartphone will go on sale in Singapore starting 28 August 2021 at OPPO Concept Stores, OPPO’s flagship stores on Shopee and Lazada, M1, Singtel, StarHub and other authorised retail outlets.
