Razer Launches Moray In-Ear Monitor
Updated: Dec 19, 2023
Razer is entering the in-ear monitor (IEM) market with the launch of the Moray.
The gaming hardware brand today announced the new, ergonomic audio device that's designed for streamers and gamers alike, combining all-day comfort with unparalleled audio quality.
"The launch of the Moray marks an exciting new chapter for Razer," said Alvin Cheung, Senior Vice President of Razer’s Hardware Business Unit. "With the Razer Moray, we're bringing the exceptional audio quality typically associated with in-ear monitors to not only streamers, but gamers as well."
The Moray touts THX Certification, meaning it's been tested and optimised by audio experts to ensure that audio quality, consistency and performance is up to standards right out of the box. The certification also assures users they can expect clear vocals and dialogue, a distortion-free experience and enhanced noise isolation from the device.
The passive noise isolation is capable of blocking up to -36 dB of noise, which removes all distractions and lets users focus on creating engaging content.
Additionally, the IEM features a hybrid dual-driver acoustic design, pairing an armature driver for trebles with a dynamic driver for bass.
What's more, Razer says it designed the Moray with comfort in mind. The device's low-profile, ergonomic shape provides a snug, in-ear fit, surpassing traditional headsets. That eliminates pressure on the head and the ears, allowing users to enjoy a fatigue-free streaming experience for hours on end.
The IEM is also equipped with OFC MMCX cables and flexible memory loop tubing, enabling it to stay put and out of the way. These braided over-ear wires also secure the device, while users engage with their fans.
The Moray ships with three types of ear tips in three different sizes as well as a splash-resistant carrying case. It's priced at US$129.99, and is available now via Razer.com, RazerStores and authorised resellers.
For those unfamiliar, IEMs are a category of headphones that are typically used by live performers. Their discreet shape and isolation capabilities help ensure performers hear the mix they need for their show, while blocking out distractions.
