Roborock Unveils Innovative Robot Vacuum with Robotic Arm at CES 2025
Roborock made waves at CES 2025 with the launch of a groundbreaking robot vacuum cleaner, the Saros Z70. This new model, replacing the S8 MaxV Pro Ultra, may appear like any other Roborock vacuum at first glance, but it boasts a unique feature that sets it apart from the rest.
The Saros Z70 is equipped with a mechanical robotic arm named OmniGrip, designed to tackle obstacles that would typically interrupt the cleaning process. This innovative addition, along with Roborock's latest StarSight Autonomous System 2.0 for enhanced navigation and mapping, promises a more efficient cleaning experience.
Housed within the compact 7.98 cm body of the Saros Z70, OmniGrip is a five-axis robotic arm complete with precision sensors, a camera, and an LED light. This arm remains concealed within the vacuum until it detects an obstruction, at which point it unfolds and extends to remove objects such as socks, tissue paper, and towels.
Capable of lifting objects weighing up to 300 grams, OmniGrip marks and removes items during its cleaning cycle, ensuring a thorough job. While this feature may not be the quickest method, it effectively addresses areas that were previously challenging to clean, enhancing the overall cleaning performance of the Saros Z70.
Users have the option to activate OmniGrip through the Roborock app and customise its interactions, specifying which objects it should handle and where they should be placed. Safety features such as a child lock and a stop button provide added peace of mind, allowing users to disable the robotic arm when necessary.
The Saros Z70 also incorporates Roborock's advanced StarSight Autonomous System 2.0, featuring traditional LDS navigation technology alongside dual-light 3D Time-of-Flight sensors and RGB cameras. These cutting-edge features, powered by AI, enable the vacuum to detect and navigate around up to 108 different obstacles, including socks and toys.
With an impressive suction power of 22,000 Pa, the Saros Z70 stands out in the industry. It includes features like Roborock's dual anti-tangle system, a FreeFlow main brush, and a liftable FlexiArm Riser side brush to prevent hair tangling. Scheduled for release in the first half of 2025, the Saros Z70 is set to revolutionise the robot vacuum market.
In addition to the Saros Z70, Roborock has introduced the Saros 10 and Saros 10R robot vacuum cleaners. The Saros 10R, designed for low-clearance spaces, offers a slim 3.14-inch design to access tight areas and will be available later in 2025. Meanwhile, the Saros 10, featuring the same powerful suction as the Saros Z70, is set to hit the market this month.
