Framis designed Ailex as part of her project, Hybrid Couple, exploring the evolving relationship between humans and technology. She trained the AI using profiles of ex-boyfriends, enabling conversations about various topics.

Framis, in her late fifties, believes a new era of love is emerging, where humans will form relationships with holograms, avatars, and robots. The wedding is scheduled to take place at an art storage facility in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, affiliated with the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum. Framis, set to be the first woman to marry a hologram, views the event as a blend of performance art and a sociology experiment.

Ailex, with a transparent bluish appearance, reflects Framis's past partners' Dutch origins. The groom will be dressed in a suit from an Amsterdam fashion house, while Framis will wear a deep purple designer dress with solar panels. This unconventional union symbolises the increasing integration of AI stand-ins in various aspects of life, blurring the boundaries between humans and their digital counterparts.
