Vietnam Approves SpaceX's Starlink for Trial Internet Service

Vietnam will allow SpaceX to launch its Starlink satellite internet service on a trial basis, the government announced on Wednesday.

The trial period will run until the end of 2030, with no restrictions on foreign ownership of the service. The government has set a subscriber limit of 600,000 during this period.


It remains unclear whether SpaceX has applied for a licence to operate in Vietnam. Starlink currently operates in more than 120 markets worldwide.


The service will provide both fixed and mobile internet plans across Vietnam, including connectivity on flights.
