Xpeng Motors' subsidiary AeroHT achieves milestone with successful test flight of Land Aircraft Carrier in Shanghai. Land Aircraft Carrier features innovative two-in-one design allowing wings and components to fold into the vehicle body. Flying car set for pre-sale this month at an estimated price of RMB 2 million, deliveries planned for early next year.
The innovative six-rotor, four-seater flying vehicle took off from a high-rise rooftop in the city's Lujiazui area, as showcased in a video shared on the Chinese social media platform WeChat.
During the test flight, the flying car circled prominent landmarks such as the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Tower, and World Financial Centre, the tallest buildings in the city. This achievement marks a groundbreaking moment as the first electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL) to conduct a low-altitude flight in Shanghai, China's largest city by economic output.
The Land Aircraft Carrier, set to be available for pre-sale this month at an estimated price of around RMB 2 million (US$274,600), boasts a unique two-in-one design that enables its wings and other components to fold into the vehicle body. With deliveries scheduled for early next year, this cutting-edge flying car is poised to offer a blend of advanced technology and practical design to potential customers.
